UNICOOP, Unexpa and Production Cooperatives representing Paraguay in the XXI International Congress of wheat
The XXI International Congress of wheat held by Abitrigo in Foz do Iguaçu, 19-21 October broke all attendance records and number of exhibitors. Attended by over 500 people, including entrepreneurs, technicians, analysts, media professionals and authorities. In addition, 36 exhibitors and sponsors also participated.

The event was opened by the president of Abitrigo, in a ceremony that was attended by the chairman of the board of the entity, Marcelo Vosnika, and several authorities: the governor of Parana, Beto Richa, federal representatives and Evandro Luiz Carlos Hauly Roman, mayor of Foz do Iguaçu, Reni Pereira, Secretary of Agriculture of Paraná, Norberto Ortigara, Brazilian Chico state Representative, and the Vice President of the Brazilian Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry (ABIP), Antero Pereira.
"It's an honor, a privilege, host an international meeting of this size, the moment that the country reaps a bumper crop of 8 million tons, of which the Parana accounted for over 50% of the total," said re-elected governor of Parana, Beto Richa.
The president of Abitrigo, Sergio Amaral, highlighted the evolution of the agenda of the event, which discussed matters of direct interest to the wheat chain, as the growing consumer demand for a healthier nutrition profile; trends in international and domestic market for wheat, with particular emphasis on the framework of MERCOSUR supply, and the program to enhance the quality of baking, object joint effort of the entity with the ABIP.
The president of the Board of the entity, Marcelo Vosnika, in turn, highlighted the representation of the event, which brought together industry, cooperatives, rural entrepreneurs, seed producers, multinational, suppliers of machinery, equipment and agricultural inputs and international producers. "The holding of the congress is an important effort to consolidate the process of integration of productive chain links of wheat," concluded Vosnika.
